Ideal would be 1min chunks since it seems that the chunking does not cut any footage and it's a smooth transition. all it needs is a little better documentation and some more work on the firmware. So I think there's a huge market for the F1 for Dashcams. So this F1 is by far the smallest package and it is 4k. And compared to the Blackvue's those are much bigger in form factor but is only full HD. There is currently no 4k dashcam out there that is no screen and wifi. SIDE NOTE: Starting in tonight’s episode, SNL shows a brief glimpse of the next sketch being set up during each commercial break, which would go on to be a weekly part of the show that still remains to this day in 2019. MasterCard made possible the priceless aspect of the Lewinsky affair I’m not too sure what to think of this random monologue, but I’m getting enough laughs, and Hugh Fink is making a good foil in this. Very random premise, with Cameron Diaz putting on a badass persona and picking on an innocent audience member (played by SNL writer Hugh Fink). Without provocation, host gets tough with audience member (Hugh Fink) I like the unique way the end of this opening montage transitions to the “ON AIR” sign on SNL’s home base stage (screencap below). Another theory I’ve seen is that perhaps SNL was taking a page out of MADtv’s playbook by not crediting extras who are occasionally given noteworthy co-starring roles in sketches (something that was kinda common on MADtv in their first 5 or so seasons). Some SNL fans have had a theory that perhaps the graphics department wasn’t yet finished with the featured players portion of this opening montage. Something odd, though: neither Fallon, Parnell, nor Sanz are credited in tonight’s opening montage! Very unusual. Jimmy Fallon, Chris Parnell, and Horatio Sanz have been added to the cast tonight, all joining as featured players, which begins a new tradition of it being a requirement for every new cast member to join as a featured player. The early episodes of this season are going to have A LOT of experimentation with different theme music for the opening montage, until they finally settle on one. I’m not caring for the new theme music, but not to worry, because it doesn’t last. I will admit that the cast photos in this opening montage are pretty bland. It brings back nice memories of the early days of my SNL fandom. (And to be honest, 14/15-year-old me had a bit more of a preference for MADtv than SNL back in those days, until I started really getting into older SNL reruns on Comedy Central.) Anyway, because my earliest memories of being an SNL viewer are from seasons 24 and 25, which both use the opening montage that’s introduced in tonight’s episode, this opening montage now has huge nostalgic, sentimental value to me. After my first SNL viewing, I would go on to be a very casual SNL viewer for the next year, where I would only tune into bits and pieces of the show on occasional Saturday nights on NBC while flipping the channel back and forth between that, MADtv on FOX, and other channels. I was either 14 or 15 years old at the time, depending on when in that summer this rerun aired (my birthday is in July), which I realize is quite older than the age that most people are when they first discover SNL. You see, this is the very first SNL episode I ever saw, when NBC reran it during the summer of 1999. I know this isn’t a popular opening montage among SNL fans, but I have a very soft spot for it. After season 23’s experiment with doing an opening montage with no traditional New York City scenery, we get a welcome return of NYC scenery tonight. Season 23’s drab opening montage has thankfully been done away with after only one season, and we get a new montage tonight. A particularly energetic “Live from New York…” from Tim to kick off this season. John Goodman makes his first of many cameos this season. I wonder if viewers at the time were watching this cold opening asking themselves “Who in the world is that playing Kenneth Starr?” Chris Parnell gets the honors of being the one in tonight’s trio of new cast members who gets to appear right at the top of show in the cold opening. I like the tanned, mustached look of Darrell as 2002 Bill Clinton. Interesting how this takes place four years in the future, looking back on the Lewinsky scandal. Decent fake-out with the “Oprah 2002” title screen immediately being followed by us seeing Tracy as a very heavyset, porkchop-eating woman, who we’re supposed to assume is what Oprah will look like in 2002, only for us to find out Tracy is just playing a woman who’s introducing Oprah. This is the second consecutive season premiere to begin with an Oprah cold opening. Linda Tripp (John Goodman) et al recall Lewinsky affair Segments are rated on a scale of 1-5 stars The same Capitol building will be the backdrop for a series of solemn events commemorating the deadly insurrection. 6, 2021, when a violent mob of supporters of then-President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol building as Congress was certifying Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election - an attack that left multiple people dead, scores of police officers injured and a democracy shaken to its core.
Just like the egg cartons, they will compost, and the plants will already be off to a great start. When the time is right, plant them outside – toilet paper roll and all. Since the bottoms are open, they already have a natural way of draining water. All you have to do is cut your toilet paper rolls in half and place them all tightly on a tray and fill with soil. Toilet paper rolls – Everyone uses toilet paper, and these little paper tubs are the perfect size for seed planting. Once the seeds have sprouted, divide the carton into individual cells and plant, cardboard cells and all. You can grow more than one plant in there.Įgg cartons – The best part about using egg cartons is that, since they are bio-degradable and compostable, they can be transferred along with the seedling right into the ground/soil/pot. Fill each cell in the carton with soil and plant a few seeds in each one. Old milk or juice cartons – Lay the carton on its side and remove one of the long sides. Just be sure to make a couple of drainage holes in the bottom of each cup. Old yogurt cups – On the occasion my kids get individual servings of yogurt, I would save the empty cups to use for crafts. Also, my kids absolutely love the whole journey of planting a seed, watching it grow and nurturing it until we have herbs, fruit and vegetables that we’ll harvest. Plus, your budget will go much further than if you had to buy seedlings. It’s the only really safe way to know it’s all organic. You will know which seeds are being planted, and in what kinds of soil and fertilizer. Growing plants from your own seeds puts all the control into your hands and will save you lots of money. Instead of wasting money and creating more trash, I suggest inventing your own seeds pots. I like to plant my seeds in recycled household items instead of store bought plastic trays and soil blocks or even pots. How to write an epicĪn epic is a high-level requirement of a feature. User stories help the development team empathize with the user and clarify the value produced as a result of the product from the customer’s perspective. User storiesĪ user story is user-focused and driven by user value.Įven though the product vision and roadmap come from within the organization, development should always be completely user-centric. The initiative is further segmented into defined features to develop.Įpics create alignment between the organization and the product development when it comes to prioritization. The initiative can be closing a market gap, addressing a pain point, innovation, market fit, etc.Īn epic is the actualization of the product roadmap. The purpose of the theme is to be the North Star, providing a clear picture of the entire organization’s focus area. The big idea is segmented into strategic goals. Themes and initiatives define the product vision. Regardless of how you structure the hierarchy structure of themes/initiatives, epics, and user stories, each level is defined with a purpose. The MVPs can be developed and launched to the user within a short period, allowing the team to learn and iterate, validate ideas, and adjust the roadmap as necessary. This segmentation also helps in prioritization by slicing the initiative into more manageable minimum viable products (MVPs). Breaking the theme into various levels helps shorten the product development lifecycle from ideation to execution. But that doesn’t mean the product needs to be fully developed with all features complete at the time of launch.Ī core value of agile development is quick delivery and learning by doing. In any product development cycle, multiple features concurrently fulfill users’ needs. However, if the design of scale is used within the circumference of an organization, the basic idea is the same.Ī product roadmap boils down to smaller, achievable tasks. Smaller products or organizations may only have one top hierarchy. initiativesĭepending on the organization’s size, the product’s complexity, the composition of initiatives, themes, and epic may vary in dimensions. In large organizations, where several cross-functional teams are involved in product development, epics help everyone get on the same page around development goals, dependencies, and priorities. This gives us a clearer picture of what we need to achieve today to make meaningful progress toward the strategic initiative. You can break it down further into epics - e.g., building each room - and then even further to building a wall. But it helps to break down the larger initiative into several themes - for example, building the foundation and the ground floor. The direction of where to start may not be apparent to everyone working on the product. Like building a house, the product development lifecycle can feel overwhelming. If an initiative is like building the ground floor, an epic is like creating a kitchen and a user story is like building a wall, with each brick being a task.Īgile development breaks down a broad product vision into small, achievable tasks that produce frequently updated results. The theme, epic, and user stories share the same strategic goal at different levels of the focus area.Ĭonsider the example of building a house. Epics are derived from themes or initiatives and can be segmented into smaller pieces called user stories.Īn epic can span across multiple sprints, teams, and even projects. What is an epic?Īn epic is a feature or functionality consisting of multiple building blocks and scenarios. Agile development teams work in short, iterative sprints, which affords them the flexibility and pragmatism required to deliver complex products. It’s not enough to anticipate user needs because they are ever-evolving. This is a core agile value as outlined in the Agile Manifesto. The product team must be dynamic enough to adapt to shifting requirements and user needs. In product development, the strategy and roadmap is based on data and insights from the market, which is always evolving. Agile development is an iterative process that enables software development teams to accelerate their time to market by fostering and embracing a culture of continuous learning.
